Stop Multitasking!

During August and September we’ll share a series of blogs around the habits of successful people.

Let’s start with being multitasking….

Successful people focus on one thing at a time. It’s easy to fall into the trap of thinking that multitasking makes us more efficient and productive. In fact it has the opposite effect…. multitasking causes our stress levels to soar, our concentration levels fall and we often fail to do any of the tasks very well. We can also fail to enjoy what we’re doing and taking in what’s happening around us.

Successful people manage their energy not just their time. They know what their “Most Important Task” is and work on it for one to two hours each morning, without interruptions, while they have the physical and mental energy to be at their best. Think about what task will have the biggest impact on achieving your goals? What accomplishment will help you and your team make the biggest difference? That’s what you should dedicate your mornings to every day.

Remember focus on one thing at a time…. Stop juggling so many things. Slow down… practice being doing one thing at a time at work and at play and watch your life, your well being and your relationships improve.
