Make it home for dinner

There is always more to be done, more that should be done, always more than can be done. You’ll never really get everything done….

Highly successful people know what they value in life. Yes, the value their work, but the also know what else they value. There is no right answer, but for many, these other values include spending time with family and friends, exercising, and giving back in some way. We need to be conscious of giving ourselves to the things that matter most to us.

For me it’s about rising early, getting into work, being present and actively listening when my husband and children share their thoughts, insights and things they’re up to. The most important thing for our family is sitting down to have dinner together EVERY night, without exception.

Successful people consciously allocate their 1,440 minutes a day to each area they value i.e. they schedule time to do the things they value most and put them on their calendar), and then they stick to that schedule.

People will value different things. It’s about ensuring we have a balance and spend time doing the things that enhance our well being, give us a sense of purpose and spending time with those we love.

What things do you value most?
